oak products are made from unseasoned English Oak, traditionally known
as green oak. The timber used has been air dried to match ambient conditions
and is felled only from UK estates under Forestry Commission license.
This ensures that the harvesting of these trees does not damage the natural
habitat and also avoids the need for imported timber. As a result English
green Oak has a carbon footprint of approximately 7% that of imported
Teak, thereby minimizing the environmental effects of your garden furniture.
The furniture is constructed using traditional
pegged mortis and tennon joints wherever possible. As the moisture content
of the wood changes with the seasons, the whole of the joint naturally
contracts and expands together to keep the joints tight. |
